Los Angeles Company Manager / Casting Director
Shannon began casting with Mark Mullen and Associates Casting in 2004, working on films such as Miami Vice and Lonely Hearts, as well as hundreds of national and regional commercials. Independently, she worked as a freelance writer and handled script coverage, wrote treatments, and cast for various film production companies in Los Angeles. Notable features during this period include the award-winning drama Take Shelter (Michael Shannon, Jessica Chastain), and the independent comedy, Kings of Summer, (Nick Offerman, Megan Mullalley).
In addition to her work in the entertainment industry, Shannon spent five years as the Campaign Communications Manager for the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. She has also held positions in the development departments of UCLA, and the Cleveland Institute of Art.
In her early days, Shannon appeared on stage in a variety of musicals including, Evita, The Sound of Music, Gypsy, Anything Goes, and Jesus Christ Superstar. She’s also worked as a voice-over artist and still occasionally sings live with various bands.
In her spare time, Shannon enjoys creative writing. Her short fiction has appeared in a variety of literary journals including Monkeybicycle, Pidgeonholes, and the Gordon Square Review (2017 prize for short fiction).
Shannon holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Cleveland State University.
